Dr Rong-Shy Lin is Executive VP of the Chunghwa Telecom Company and President of the Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories. He leads Chunghwa Telecom in the fields of 5G ORAN, AIoT, Ai/big data, and cloud computing technologies. He is devoted to enterprise digital transformation, interdiscipli-nary integration between information and communication technologies, and building an agile company culture.
Dr Lin served as deputy general manager of the Information Division and Information Security Division, deputy general manager of the business customer branch office, president of the Institute, and general manager of the Information Technology Group. He has rich and practical business experience as well as a solid technical background in developing information and commu-nication applications, integrated networking management, information and communication security, network architecture optimization and design. He successfully finished several evaluation and planning projects to establish critical information systems. He has been interviewed many times by business management magazines and was invited to give the keynote on 5G telecom (2020 IEEE GLOBECOM keynote). He served as a member of the steering committee at the Cryptology and Information Security Conference (CISC) and mentor for the AMAA Taipei Cradle Program.
Dr Lin earned his PhD in information engineering at the National Chiao Tung University. He also has a Master’s degree in information science from the National Tsing Hua University. He also won the Medal in Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering, the 2nd “Ten Outstanding Project Managers Award,” as well as the National Information Manager Excellence Award of the Chinese Professional Management Association. He was elected “Outstanding Alumnus” of the Department of Computer Science, and the 1st ”Outstanding Alumnus of the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.”
