Multi-Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud and Management

OVERVIEW

With the diversification of cloud platforms, it's critical for enterprises to manage a multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud environment for on-demand resource orchestration. With the software-defined technologies in combination with telecommunications operation and maintenance expertise, Chunghwa Telecom Labs has been building a hybrid cloud management platform that enables flexible resource orchestration across public cloud and private cloud. This platform can help enterprises to have a virtual private cloud environment to manage their IT resources and applications across cloud more efficiently.

APPLICATION STATUS

Software-defined computing/network/storage technology:Chunghwa Telecom Labs manages the control layer of physical equipment through programmable software to manipulate equipment from various vendors flexibly. In this scenario, software-defined data centers and virtual private cloud environments to enable fast, automated, and efficient IT services.
Resource management technology across public and private cloud:Chunghwa Telecom Labs supports the integrated management of various facilities and virtualization platforms, e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMware, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, etc. It not only simplifies the resource application and daily maintenance, but also supports budget cost analysis to help enterprises reduce cloud service costs.
Energy-efficient management technology for cloud-based facilities:Chunghwa Telecom Labs collects power consumption metrics of cloud servers to provide intelligent analysis and energy-saving management of power consumption. It improves the energy efficiency of IT environments to help enterprises optimize power consumption and demonstrate the social responsibility of carbon reduction and energy saving.
Integration and monitoring technology of cloud services/resources:Chunghwa Telecom Labs has been building a multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud management platform collecting various monitoring metrics across clouds. It authorizes different users to inspect and manage service and resource statistics on a single dashboard based on their roles, which enables them to grasp application usage and service status at a glance. In this scenario, the maintenance management center is able to facilitate the efficiency of FCAPS issues handling.
