OVERVIEW

Smart seaport solutions have become an important issue as all countries continue to build more efficient ports in response to the rapid growth of global shipping demand. We integrate the usage of an automated gate system (AGS) based on AI, 5G, IoT, Edge Computing, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and other new technologies to manage the security and control of personnel, vehicles, and containers entering and leaving the port areas in major international harbors across the country. At the same time, we research and develop automated container yard solutions to strengthen the efficiency and accuracy of various operations for the container yard, storage areas, and shipside. With the data integration from multi-source including the Harbor authorities, Customs, shipping and logistic companies, the Next-Gen Smart port solutions will fulfill the vision of smart ports in 2030.

APPLICATION STATUS

Process Integration of AGS:Based on AI OCR、RFID、Kiosk technologies,Auto Gate System (AGS), with gate control for person, vehicle, container,epidemic and customs checkpoints functions, has achieved a trip time reduction (from 4 mins to below 10 secs) and 24hr operational harbor gate system for 7 major international ports in Taiwan. Owners had won the Golden Axe Award for Public Works of the Executive Yuan.
Identification and Position of Person/Vehicle/Container in Container Yard:With RFID Pass, eTag, GNSS technologies, our automation has upgraded container yard operations and performance. The solution had been used by the sixth container terminal of Kaohsiung Harbor and reduced an average of 30% working time. The application was praised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs for industrial innovation achievements and won the "Process/Process Innovation Award".
Recognition of Trailer and Container Based on Artificial Intelligence:We had achieved Positioning, Feature extraction, Image classification for container and trailer with independent research and development of AI image object detection and recognition technology. A PoC (Proof of Concept) project in Kaohsiung Harbor has been launched for advanced container recognition, including type/seals/marks/damage. It will enhance ship-side container operation with the integration of TOS (Terminal Operating System).
