Overview

Blockchain is a decentralized ledger system that provides data interoperability, security, privacy and automated management due to its decentralization, non-tampering, low cost, and ability to manage complex smart contracts. Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories has developed Blockchain technologies and innovative application solutions such as smart contracts, data evidence, NFT digital asset and DID(Decentralized Identifier) authentication, which have been successfully used in Government, Insurance and other fields.

Application Status

Smart Contract Technology:Blockchain smart contract can conduct reliable transactions without a third party. Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories developed automatic claim technology using smart contracts applied to the travel inconvenience insurance, the policy passbooks, and the medical inpatient claims. Combined with the connection of off-chain data, it simplifies the complex claim procedure and increases the speed and reliability of claiming process.
Data Evidence Technology:The research and development of Blockchain data exchange logging, data evidence storage, investigation, and monitoring technology, through the characteristics of Blockchain, such as non-repudiation, tamper-proof, and easy tracking, ensure the authenticity of electronic data. It has been applied to governmental services.
NFT digital asset Technology:NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a unique digital asset. Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories has developed NFT issuance, management, and trading technology, and has established an NFT management and trading platform to provide customers with the function of quickly importing and issuing NFT assets, which has been applied to governmental service.
DID authentication Technology:Based on the advantages of Blockchain information being transparent, non-tamperable and verifiable, and following the W3C DID (Decentralized Identifiers) standard, DID identity authentication technology is developed. It can meet the security requirements of digital electronic document issuance and verification, and ensure that the disclosure of personal information is minimized.
The CHT Blockchain technology has owned more than 10 patents since 2019.
