Overview

The cellular network industry has been vendor-lock in for a long time, resulting in the lack of flexibility to choose third-party products and introduce service innovation. In Feb. 2018, The O-RAN alliance was founded by world major operators, aiming to create an open network architecture that allows the interoperability of O-RAN solutions from different providers. Based on the rapid development of cloud infrastructure, the O-RAN alliance press ahead the virtualization and specification of network function, providing the operators with the option of multi-vendors products and service innovation, along with the cloud feature of power saving, hot spare, and scalability. We are gladly participating in the membership of O-RAN alliance, to strive for the evolution of standards and design O-RAN End-to-End testing methodology by our knowledge of signaling, conformance and security analysis in the mobile network. To fulfill the spirit of 5G open radio access network, we also implemented a cloud management and orchestration framework that can achieve disaggregation of network function, with a unified network management and intelligent regulation technology that can manage the O-RAN compliant base station.

Application Status

RAN signaling, performance and security analysis technology:Based on O-RAN base station signaling, information security detection and functional performance analysis technology, CHTTL has established more than 40 highly distinguished O-RAN End-to-End tests, including core network interface test, performance interoperability test, stress test, stability test, autonomous capability test, and security test. These tests can help to evaluate performance, stability level, autonomy capability and security of O-RAN base stations, as well as autonomous test and security test for MEC (Mobile Edge Computing) and core networks; participated in the "Asia-Silicon Valley-5G Open Network Integration Verification and Promotion Plan", and assisted 11 domestic equipment manufacturers on O-RAN End-to-End tests; and hold the "O-RAN Alliance 3rd PlugFest" event in 2021.
RAN network function cloudification platform:develop an exclusive telecom cloud management system, which can effectively manage the life cycle of each O-RAN network function entering the cloud, achieve seamless backup mechanism and expansion flexibility, and reduce the probability of base station service interruption, save hardware and energy waste.
RAN intelligent regulation technology:developing smart solutions for O-RAN network quality optimization, user regulation, and cross-domain optimization, published more than 10 patents, and cooperated with Taiwanese manufacturers to integrate on-site QoS/QoE optimization use cases, published and showed on IEEE Globecom 2020 and O-RAN 2021 The third global plug-in conference.
RAN network management system:CHTTL has developed a proprietary O-RAN NMS (Network Management System) network management system. The system follows the O1/M-Plane standard interface (8 categories and 21 groups of APIs) to manage and control multi-manufactured O-RAN base station communication components (RU/DU/CU), supports the incorporation of private network product solutions into O-RAN base stations, enhances product competitiveness, leads the domestic 5G ecosystem, provides network management interface interoperability detection tools, base station basic management, field quality dashboards, and automatic launch functions.
5G open network cross-domain integrated management solution:In order to allow users to grasp the operating quality and status of cross-domain heterogeneous resources, CHTTL has developed a one-stop "5G open network E2E monitoring solution", which integrates and monitors multiple base stations and cores. Providing customer-based solutions, and comprehensively monitor the operation quality of cross-domain heterogeneous resources such as multi-brand terminal equipment, multi-brand O-RAN, MEC, and multi-brand 5G core networks.
