Overview
With the demands of high-quality network services, such as high-definition video, high-speed Internet access, high-quality voice, online games, and augmented/virtual reality, the fixed-line broadband network has been developed to offer large-bandwidth, low-latency, and massive connections, which are helpful for digital convergence evolution.However, the construction of ultra-high-speed broadband fiber access network cannot be accomplished overnight. There exists many challenging issues needed to be overcome, such as the technologies for new application models, stability of equipment function, coexistence evolution of legacy and cutting-edge networks, difficulties of deploying fibers to home, vendor lock-in, multiple services convergence, home terminal connecting to network, network performance monitoring, etc. New technologies of Fiber To The Home Access Network, concerning its evolution and coexistence with the existing access network, its performance and quality optimization, the equipment interoperability, the multiple services convergence provided by access gateways and wire/wireless mixed media connections, are explored at TL. These researches are to build the cornerstone of intelligent access networks to fulfill a new fixed-mobile/cloud-network synergy network which will provide services with high quality of customer experience and support innovative service applications with large bandwidth, low latency and wide connections of things.

Application Status
Ultra-high-speed broadband Fiber To The Home Access Network technology Over 10G：Deploying 10G PON technology provides 2G new services and supports broadband services, such as internet service, video/voice applications and MOD.
The interoperability technology of multi-vender FTTH equipments：Successfully achieving the interoperability between multi-vender access equipments and will continue the developing of interoperability technologies.
The integration technology of wire and wireless home networking：Developing the integrated network connecting technology for diverse access such as Wi-Fi Mesh, telephone line, power line, coaxial cable, Ethernet cable, to provide broadband convergence services.
The Home Gateway speed test and quality measurement technologies：Integrating TL-developed speed test and quality measurement modules into home gateways for measuring the quality of broadband connections.
